Bringing #MoInnocence, #MoEmpathy, and #MoJustice to Missouri!
Our Theory of Change
Through the building of a statewide prison advocacy movement with impacted community members – both inside and outside of carceral institutions – at the forefront of advocacy & organizing efforts, empowered and activated to compel those in power to reimagine the carceral system of Missouri into one where humanity, empathy, rehabilitation, and accountability are the priority.
In Missouri, there have been 58 exonerees who have collectively lost more than 600 years of their lives.
Who is MoJustice?
We are a coalition of criminal legal system advocates working together to raise awareness about the injustice of wrongfully convicted and unjustly imprisoned innocent persons, and shed light on the appallingly inhumane prison conditions in Missouri.
What we do
We fight for justice and dignity in Missouri’s legal system through advocacy, education, and direct action. Our #MoEmpathy campaign exposes inhumane prison conditions and demands accountability, while #MoInnocence challenges wrongful convictions by centering the stories of the unjustly imprisoned. #NoMoDeathRow works to end capital punishment through clemency campaigns and community organizing, and #MoLegalCollective empowers incarcerated people by bridging gaps in legal access. Together, we challenge systemic injustice and amplify the voices of those most impacted.
